Description
The Camp Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of workforce camp operations, including catering, housekeeping, logistics, and administration. This role ensures the smooth day-to-day functioning of the camp while maintaining high standards of safety, service, and client satisfaction.
LOCATION
This position will be based at the Rook I site on a 2 week in/2 week out schedule. Accommodations and meals are provided while on rotation. Travel logistics to/from site are coordinated by NexGen.
Circumstances may require work based out of the Saskatoon office periodically.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Manage all custodial, catering, and concierge services on-site.
- Coordinate logistics including occupancy, transportation, site access, and inventory.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, head office, and on-site teams.
- Supervise and schedule all camp staff, including onboarding and training.
- Monitor and manage camp budgets, ordering, and inventory within set limits.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and environmental standards.
- Implement and enforce company policies and safety management systems.
- Address resident concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain camp cleanliness, equipment functionality, and overall site order.
- Prepare and review crossover notes for shift transitions
- Support hiring, performance management, and employee relations.
- Report any health, safety, or operational risks to leadership.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of camp systems and processes.
- Continued use of Nomadis software for room bookings and travel logistics.
- LEM (Labour, Equipment, Material) review, LEM tracking, and invoice review to ensure budgetary spend and accruals are on track.
- Effective management of rotational flights, with close monitoring of aircraft in/out movements, which is a critical component of the role.
- Developments of scope and management of contractors.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing workforce camps or hotels (300+ beds preferred)
- Degree or diploma in hospitality, administration, or related field (BAC/DEC preferred)
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Food Safe Level 1 (required); Level 2 and MAPAQ certification (preferred)
- Basic First Aid certification
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and maintain compliance during rotation
- Experience with lodge management software (e.g., Infynia) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with inventory control, ordering systems, and budget tracking
- Experience working with First Nations communities (an asset)
- Bilingual (English/French) preferred
