Overview

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, as well as a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are operating efficiently and safely.

Duties

- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar and other brands.

- Conduct maintenance on various types of heavy equipment, including vacuum trucks, commercial and non commercial trucks, and automotive repairs.

- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.

- Repair and maintain vehicle systems such as transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension, HVAC, and more.

- Execute brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment tasks.

- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to guide repair processes.

- Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.

- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used for inventory management.

- Provide exceptional service by communicating effectively with management and technicians regarding their vehicle needs.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role with a strong mechanical knowledge base.

- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and maintenance practices.

- Experience in automotive repair with skills in electrical systems is preferred.

- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with mechanic duties.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

- Previous dealership experience is a plus but not mandatory.

- Knowledge of fabrication techniques is advantageous for custom repair solutions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $27.40 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
