Position Summary: Perform intermediate and finish slitting operations which include setup, calculating, measuring, weighing, and recording activities to finish slit stock to specifications. - Set up cutters to slit materials to finish width based on order specifications
Working from routing orders, forms, specification and verbal and written instructions from supervisor.
- Utilize various hand tools, finish slitter machines, micrometers, calculators, and related tools.
- Maintain necessary records and move materials.
- Follow established company and department rules and regulations and maintain quality standards.
- Support a safety culture by following all safety rules including reporting all incidents
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Able to lift 25+ pounds multiple times throughout shift.- Previous slitting and precious metals experience is preferred.
- Able to stand, walk and reach throughout the shift.
- Ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
- Able to read, write and speak English.
- Good math skills.
- Must follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.
- High school diploma or GED; technical degree is a plus.
- Standing for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day.
- Frequent lifting of between 10 lbs. and 70 lbs.
- Fast-paced environment: subject to priority changes and short-notice activity.
