As an Industrial Maintenance Technician/Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting maintenance, repairs, and inspections on various equipment and systems to maintain optimal efficiency and safety standards. This hands-on, working manager role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
- Performing routine maintenance around the building, such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door, or wall repair
- Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped
- Basic plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage problems
- Groundskeeping:
- Lawn or other outdoor area maintenance Walkways and driveway maintenance Wintertime – working in conjunction with the snowplow contractor salting or extra removal of snow
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to lubrication, cleaning, and calibration.
- Repair or replace faulty components of equipment, such as motors, belts, bearings, and electrical wiring.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery, including assembly, wiring, and testing.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts
- Determines changes in parts requirements by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations to minimize downtime and production disruptions
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols by inspecting equipment and facilities for hazards and taking corrective actions.
- Conduct inspections of machinery and facility to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
- Maintain cleanliness of floor and aisles.
- Help in moving equipment and supplies into new areas of the facility or storage.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technologies and maintenance techniques.
- Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to optimize equipment performance and resolve maintenance issues.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with employees of the building in a pleasant manner
- Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Primary hours for this position are 5 am to 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metals industry.
