An overview of your future role at BBA
When you join our team, you’ll contribute to various stages of projects involving water management and treatment, as well as environmental engineering (acoustics, vibration, air quality) in the renewable energy, heavy industry and mining sectors.
As Department Manager, you’ll help achieve strategic objectives and will work with teams at a national level. You’ll manage the department’s human, financial and equipment resources while overseeing progress to ensure operational efficiency.
An overview of your mandates and responsibilities
§ Plan, coordinate and supervise consulting services in the fields of water management, water treatment and environmental engineering
§ Develop the technical skills of department members (training, work methods, etc.) and actively participate in recruiting and hiring qualified personnel to achieve BBA’s strategic objectives
§ Develop relationships with clients and prepare competitive proposals
§ Actively participate in project delivery within your expertise as a technical contributor or project manager
§ Monitor, engage and assess employees under your supervision
§ Work with the internal Innovation and Practice teams to increase department efficiency and ensure a structured approach to project delivery
§ Represent the firm at professional conferences and meetings, and with regulatory bodies

§ University degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, chemical, environmental) or related discipline
§ Member of a professional engineering order (OIQ or equivalent)
§ At least 10 years of relevant experience in at least one of the following fields: water treatment, water resource management, acoustics and vibration, air quality
§ Experience in team management and in engaging collaborators
§ Experience in the industrial, energy and mining sectors, with knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in Québec and Canada
§ Available for occasional travel to domestic or international destinations
§ Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
§ Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
§ Asset: knowledge of modelling software relevant to at least one of the fields (hydraulics, hydrology, acoustics, vibration, atmospheric dispersion)
