We are looking for a qualified and professional Class 1 Truck Driverto join our transportation team at our Matane, Québec site. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of metal materials to and from customer sites and other AIM facilities.
- Operating a Class 1 commercial vehicle to transport metal materials while ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies
- Performing routine inspections before and after truck trips, ensuring that the truck is in good working order
- Loading and unloading metal materials onto the truck safely, using the appropriate equipment, and securing the load to prevent movement or damage during transport, if necessary
- Completing accurate and complete delivery records and any other required documentation
- Providing quality customer service
- You have a valid Class 1 driver's license with FM endorsement and a clean driving record.
- You have experience driving manual transmission vehicles.
- You have at least one year of experience as a Class 1 driver.
- You are customer service-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- You have good physical endurance and the ability to perform loading and unloading activities as needed.
- You have a good knowledge of metal recycling processes and materials (an asset).
- You have experience with dump trucks/roll-offs. (an asset)
- You are in good physical condition and have a strong concern for safety
- You have good customer service skills
- You are punctual, reliable, and respectful of equipment
