You will be part of our specialized mechanical team focused on hazardous area classification, fire and explosion prevention and protection (gases and dusts). You will be exposed to a wide range of situations that will allow you to develop strong technical skills in the fields of explosive dusts and gases, machine safety, risk analysis, electrical area classification, and fire protection. You will contribute to all phases of projects in the heavy industrial sector, from initial studies through to the implementation of solutions at client sites.
In your role as an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT), you will participate in risk analyses, engineering activities, regulatory reviews, technology selection, and the execution of projects across various industrial sectors, including the wood industry, mining, energy, and heavy industry. You will also contribute to the identification of business development opportunities with our clients and support the preparation of winning service proposals. You will be expected to assume a primarily technical and project management role within your mandates and to actively support the firm’s business development efforts by maintaining strong client relationships.

- Lead and participate in risk analyses (DHA, PRA, HAZID, HAZOP).
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports.
- Lead and participate in the design of drawings, specifications, and details based on guidelines provided by a senior engineer.
- Formulate recommendations for the development of standards and other practical applications.
- Assist more experienced staff with technical aspects of complex tasks.
- Coordinate the work of drafters and other team members.
- Make technical decisions regarding design concepts, formulate recommendations, and take responsibility for decisions involving highly technical or complex aspects.

- Perform on-site supervision of contractors.
- Participate in technical site audits.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and membership in the OIQ
- Asset: Good knowledge of NFPA, ATEX, CSA, IEC, and NBC standards
- Asset: Relevant experience in the industrial sector
- Bilingual (French and English), both written and spoken, with the ability to produce technical documentation in both languages
- Available for short‑ and medium‑term travel outside the office
- Relevant experience in project management, cost estimating, technical report writing, and troubleshooting
