Job Summary
MOR Construction Services, Inc. is a locally owned and operated contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team of highly motivated professionals. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual with strong leadership skills and extensive underground utility experience.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables based on contract documents and client requirements.
- Develop detailed project plans including schedules, phasing, crew needs, equipment requirements, and material procurement.
- Review drawings, specifications, permits, and utility locates to ensure full job readiness.
- Coordinate and direct field crews performing excavation, trenching, utility piping, and small concrete placements.
- Assign responsibilities, provide guidance, and serve as the primary point of contact for project staff.
- Promote and enforce company safety policies, OSHA standards, and jobsite best practices.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost codes, and forecasts.
- Monitor labor, material, and equipment costs to ensure work remains within budget.
- Approve invoices, purchase orders, and change orders as needed.
- Identify potential risks such as site conflicts, utility interferences, or schedule impacts.
- Resolve field issues promptly and adjust plans when necessary.
- Ensure work meets all quality standards, municipal requirements, and inspection protocols.
- Serve as the primary liaison for municipal officials, inspectors, engineers, and commercial facility representatives.
- Provide regular project updates, coordinate schedule changes, and manage client expectations.
- Attend project meetings, site walkthroughs, and progress reviews.
- Monitor progress against schedule milestones and contract deliverables.
- Use project data to track productivity, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare internal and client-facing reports as required.
- Oversee completion of punch-list items, final inspections, and as-built documentation.
- Close out contracts, release resources, and conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned.
- Leadership: Ability to direct crews, coordinate subcontractors, and promote a productive and safe work environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with municipalities, commercial clients, and internal teams.
- Organization: Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, documents, and priorities.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying field issues and implementing effective, timely solutions.
- Time Management: Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain project momentum.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, digital plan-reading tools, and construction documentation.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of excavation practices, underground utilities, small concrete work, jobsite safety, and municipal standards.
