About This Job
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle heavy lifting. The Driver will operate home heating oil trucks and will provide exceptional service when delivering to our clients.
Year Round Duties
•
Safely operate commercial vehicle, including tank trucks.
•
Promptly deliver to customers making sure each delivery is done in an efficient and timely manner.
•
Check with office staff on dispatched orders that come in while on route for deliveries.
•
Maintain a clean truck at all times. Washing your truck will be directed by management as needed.
•
Answer and aide customers in any questions or concerns they may have upon delivery.
•
Keep records of deliveries in an organized order as they are being done.
•
During the off season, odd jobs will be designated for driver such as landscaping, light construction and repair work, and maintenance (summer-time hours will be reduced from 8-hour shifts to 7-hour shifts.
•
During the winter season, weekends will not be a requirement to work but will be offered.
Skills
•
Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type.
•
Strong ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
•
Previous experience as a home heating oil driver is a plus but not a requirement.
•
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for record keeping.
•
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
•
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
•
Full-time year round requirement; willing to do odd job work during the summertime and having 7-hour shifts.
