Job Description:
As a Bed Truck Operator, you will play a vital role in rigging up, loading, transporting, and setting oilfield equipment across various sites. Your expertise in operating bed trucks and winch trucks, handling oversized loads, and navigating challenging terrain is essential to supporting our heavy haul and rig-moving operations.
- Equipment Handling: Safely operate bed trucks and associated equipment to load, transport, and set up drilling rigs, tanks, and other heavy oilfield machinery.
- Winching & Loading: Use winch equipment to safely load and unload heavy and oversized equipment, ensuring proper securement for transport.
- Rig Moves: Assist with oilfield rig-up and rig-down operations, supporting crews in equipment placement and site setup.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific safety protocols.
- Equipment Inspections: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and equipment; promptly report and document mechanical issues.
- Documentation: Accurately complete required paperwork, including load tickets, trip reports, and inspection sheets.
- Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatchers, rig crews, and field supervisors to coordinate logistics and troubleshoot issues.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively address challenges such as difficult site conditions, roadblocks, or equipment malfunctions to ensure timely and safe operations.
- CDL Class A License: Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of oilfield driving experience, including bed truck and winch truck operation.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of load securement, rigging techniques, and specialized hauling equipment.
- Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to safety.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including climbing, lifting, securing loads, and working in various weather and terrain conditions.
