About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Lead Web Engineer with extensive experience in PHP, Node.js, Laravel, MySQL, and RESTful service development. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade web applications, while providing technical leadership and mentorship to the development team. The successful candidate will combine hands-on expertise with strategic oversight, ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle of web applications, ensuring adherence to organizational goals and technical standards.

- Architect, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.

- Direct database architecture and optimization efforts in MySQL, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

- Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Design, DevOps, and Quality Assurance to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.

- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to development team members, fostering professional growth and technical excellence.

- Manage code reviews, technical documentation, and project planning.

- Lead efforts in CI/CD for web site and service development and oversee deployment process(es)

Qualifications

Must Have:

- 7+ years of progressive experience in professional web development, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.

- Advanced proficiency in PHP, Node.js, and the Laravel framework.

- Deep expertise in MySQL database design, optimization, and administration.

- Proven track record of REST API development and integration.

- Comfortable with front end implementation using Tailwind CSS, Laravel, React.js

- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and architectural principles.

- Deep knowledge of CI/CD leveraging Git, and Bitbucket/Jenkins pipeline

- Proficient in microservices, distributed systems, and layered architecture patterns

- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

- Familiarity with

cloud platforms

(AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
