Key responsibilities:

- Operate one or more pieces of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, a front loader, crusher, skid steer, material handler, grapple or magnet; may run forklift

- Assess customer loads and uses the appropriate equipment to facilitate the movement of materials from the customer’s vehicle to the scrap location

- Use equipment to safely load the sheer or trucks with shreddable materials (as well as other equipment), ensuring the scrap metal operation maintains a constant and consistent flow; watch for any issues or obstructions with the sheer or shreddable material

- Coordinate movement of materials through interactions with other yard staff via radio or hand signals; work closely with scale to ensure safe movement of materials and if there are issues with material not meeting specifications

- Report maintenance concerns or repairs needed to the manager or maintenance staff

- Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned including cleanup

Preferred Qualification:

- Preference will be given to candidates able to assist with Tow Truck Driving- must have clean driving record and live
