This is a full-time, on-site role based in Woodbridge, ON, for a skilled Wire EDM Machinist. The primary responsibilities include programming, setting up, and operating Wire EDM machines to produce high-precision components according to specifications. Additional tasks involve interpreting technical blueprints, monitoring machine performance, performing quality checks to ensure tolerances are met, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to optimize processes. Ensuring routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety protocols are also integral to this role.
- Proficiency in operating and programming Wire EDM machines
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering instructions
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and understanding of CNC programming
- Knowledge of precision machining, tight tolerances, and specialty materials
- Familiarity with quality control practices, including measuring equipment and tolerance checks
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and machine maintenance skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and collaboration
- Prior experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing preferred
- Technical diploma or certification in machining, or equivalent experience, is an asset
