Welder Mechanic
Person must be able to work with minimal amount of supervision. Punctual, good work ethic, and regular work attendance are mandatory. CSA approved steel-toe safety shoes and PPE are mandatory at all times for the duration of your shift. Please note that all prospective candidates must comply with current Collective Agreement conditions.
Person shall be physically fit and able to handle heavy lifting on a regular basis.
Must be able to read drawings, follow instructions, and learn various duties to enable that person to work with little supervision when performing any of their duties.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings / ‘tickets’
- Assemble and weld products using various material types (mild steel, structural steel, stainless steel) and material thicknesses
- Inspect fabricated product according to the job specifications/instructions
- Use miscellaneous equipment and tools (e.g. overhead crane, hand tools, measuring tools, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- 2-3 years of MIG welding experience, must be capable of passing Welding Certification Test
- Physically fit; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and repetitive basis
- Must be comfortable standing and walking throughout the full shift
- Must be comfortable using computers and barcode scanning technology
- Knowledge of machinery and blue print reading
- Must be able to work up to 40 hours weekly
- Able to learn various jobs and duties quickly
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Good communications abilities
- Ability to work independently and under direction
- Must be well organized and able to work with minimal supervision
- Positive team player able to work as a team or individually
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Regular work attendance is necessary.
