We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing bi-weekly payroll (90%) and biweekly accounts payable activities (10%). The ideal candidate will have proven experience in payroll and strong understanding of compliance and record-keeping, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Manage new hires, terminations, benefits deductions, and payroll adjustments.
- Prepare ROEs, T4s, and other year-end payroll documentation.
- Liaise with HR and department managers regarding timekeeping, bonuses, and adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and respond to employee payroll inquiries.
- Receive, review, and process contractors invoices and employee expense reports.
- Maintain accurate vendor files and reconcile vendor statements.
- Assist in month-end close by preparing accruals and AP reports.
- Resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing circumstances.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Previous experience in Payroll and Accounts Payable.
- Hands-on experience with Excel, Payworks, and Adobe.
