Lumea is a state-of-the-art surgical centre performing refractive and premium cataract procedures.
We are currently seeking a full-time Optometric Patient Coordinator to join our team.
The chosen candidate will be responsible for educating patients on the procedures offered at our clinic as well as scheduling and preparing patients for their upcoming appointments. · Establish rapport with patients. Initiate patient evaluation, review medical history and all pertinent ocular findings accurately and in accordance with compliance guidelines
· Perform pre-exam diagnostic testing, such as but not limited to: lensometry, visual fields, keratometry, A/B scans, ophthalmic photography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), Optical Biometry & other diagnostic testing as required
· Assist with minor surgical procedures or laser treatments in the office
· Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by the physician
· Assist nursing staff with organizing surgery schedules & OR supply ordering & planning
· Conduct an inventory of ophthalmic supplies, including pharmaceuticals and instruments, regularly
· Assist with the maintenance of clinical examination equipment
· Open and close exam lanes daily, ensuring that equipment is wiped down appropriately, battery-powered instruments are seated properly in recharge wells, slit lamps and projectors are switched off under covers
· Follow all safety procedures as per guidelines
· Outstanding interpersonal skills as well as a neat and professional appearance.
· One year of specialized ophthalmic experience is desirable
Position requires a great deal of initiative, commitment, and flexibility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with strong attention to detail.
