Winoa Canada is seeking experienced and licensed Maintenance Technicians (Electricians/Millwrights) to join the maintenance team at our Welland facility. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver specializing in installing, dismantling, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment to ensure safe, smooth, and efficient production operations.
- Install, assemble, align, and dismantle industrial machinery using hand/power tools, hoists, and lifting equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications for accurate installations and repairs.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and computerized equipment.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery.
- Fabricate or modify machine parts; rebuild equipment such as pumps, lathes, and milling machines.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor apprentices; complete documentation and support general plant maintenance tasks.
- Industrial Mechanic – Millwright 433A trade ticket (licensed is required).
- Proven experience moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery.
- Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities/malfunctions in equipment.
- Competence in fabricating replacement parts during setup, maintenance, or overhaul.
- Thorough knowledge of load-bearing capabilities for equipment installation/assembly/dismantling.
- Strong aptitude in reading blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, specifications, and mathematics.
- Familiarity with quality standards; accurate and highly analytical.
- Basic computer skills for CMMS use.
- Strong work ethic, positive team attitude, and safety focus.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and living in the Niagara region or Welland and environs to be precise will be preferred.
- Experience in foundry or primary metals industry is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lb).
- Ability to work in varying atmospheric conditions and steel-making environments.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Ability to wear required PPE at all times.
- Ability to work rotating shifts (days, afternoons, nights) and overtime as required.
- Competitive hourly wage of $43.71 – $47.20, plus shift premiums for afternoons and midnights.
