The Lift Truck Driver plays a crucial role in the smooth and efficient movement of material within the facility. This role requires skilled operation of forklifts and other material-handling equipment to safely and efficiently load, unload, and transport products between shipping, receiving, and storage areas. The Lift Truck Driver not only ensures that materials are accurately prepared for shipment according to customer specifications but also plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, yard cleanliness, and safety compliance. Additionally, this role requires close coordination with team members across departments, effective communication with drivers and customers, and a high level of attention to detail in handling shipping paperwork, payments, and inventory documentation. By upholding company policies and safety standards, the Lift Truck Driver contributes to a productive, organized, and secure workplace environment.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to twist, reach, bend, push, pull, sweep, shovel, and lift. Lifting requirements include lifting various sized and shaped material from waist to chest height. Some floor to chest and overhead lifting required. Required weight range for two people ranges from 2 to 100 pounds. Work 8 hours up to 10 hours per day, 5 days per week and overtime as needed.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside work, sometimes working in an unheated building, in various temperature and weather conditions. Vapors and fumes expelled from various process tanks, sulphuric acid, zinc ammonium chloride, zinc and chromate quench, may be irritant at times. However they are well within their regulatory limits.
The employee will be required to wear all safety equipment as mandated by Company Safety Policies.
