The Environment Health & Safety Specialist plays a key leadership role in ensuring Triple M’s compliance with Canadian health, safety, and environmental regulatory requirements across assigned sites. This position provides expert guidance on HSE matters, supports the development and continual improvement of Triple M’s Integrated Management System, and drives initiatives that enhance safety culture and environmental performance. The Specialist also contributes to organizational conformance with ISO standards related to quality and environment, while identifying opportunities to strengthen systems, processes, and overall operational safety outcomes.

As our Environment Health & Safety Specialist, you’ll act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, supporting teams at all levels and helping shape a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture. You will:
- Lead and conduct advanced risk assessments and hazard analyses to prevent injuries, illness, and environmental impacts.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal safety, environmental, and compliance training programs.
- Oversee the maintenance and improvement of EHS policies, procedures, and documentation within Triple M’s Integrated Management System.
- Provide expert guidance to managers and supervisors on regulatory compliance, safe work practices, and effective incident prevention strategies.
- Lead or support Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) initiatives, ensuring compliance and effectiveness of committee activities.
- Conduct internal audits, site inspections, and monthly performance reviews, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
- Analyze safety data to identify systemic issues and lead improvement initiatives that elevate operational safety performance.
- Champion safety engagement across all levels of the organization through education, coaching, and recognition programs.
- Support WSIB claims management and lead proactive return-to-work and accommodation planning.
- Contribute to ISO compliance efforts and environmental stewardship initiatives across assigned locations.
- Bachelor’s degree in, Occupational Health & Safety, Environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in health & safety, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, or multi-site environments.- Strong working knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal HSE legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and lead safety initiatives across diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop targeted improvement strategies.
- Proven capability to independently plan, prioritize, and execute safety initiatives across multiple sites.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and active involvement in workplace inspections, audits, and engagement activities.
