Magna Mining Inc. is a Sudbury-focused, base metal exploration and development company.
Magna Mining’s key objective is to become the next nickel and copper producing company in Canada by executing a growth strategy that is focused exclusively on the historic nickel producing district of Sudbury, ON.
We intend to achieve this objective via the creation of a Sudbury focused, hub and spoke production model, with our existing Shakespeare project as the hub. The path to the creation of a significant new battery metals producing Canadian company is to execute a long term, multi-faceted growth strategy.
The Core Logger ensures high-quality geological data collection to support resource modelling, grade control, and mine planning at Magna Mining.

- Log core according to site geology and standard logging procedures.
- Use standardized coding systems and digital logging tools.
- Mark and cut core using core saws or splitters, ensuring consistent sample intervals and safe operation.
- Prepare samples for laboratory submission.
- Maintain sample integrity, chain-of-custody, and compliance with QA/QC protocols.
- Assist with unloading, washing, orienting, photographing, and storing drill core.
- Ensure all core trays are clearly labeled and stored according to site procedures.
- Maintain orderly core storage and work areas.
- Enter and verify geological and sampling data in the site database.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of logs and measurements.
- Communicate notable geological features to supervising geologists.
- Participate in daily/weekly meetings to report progress and highlight geological findings.
- Post-secondary education in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geological Technology, or a related field.
- 1 or more year of core logging experience, with a focus on underground base metal mining operations.
- Familiarity with core logging, sampling procedures, and geological terminology.
- Experience identifying and describing base metal sulphides is an asset.
- Understanding of QA/QC practices and sampling protocols.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Competency in computer data entry and logging software.
- Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical fitness to handle core trays and stand for extended periods.
