Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Manager, Tailings, Water and Environment, you will be part of the Environmental Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Lead the project development and execution of capital projects relating to heavy civil and/or surface mining projects. Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, and oversee their execution to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Prepare proposals, SOW’s, and contract administration documents to support the responsible management of contractors, consultants and projects resources.
- Prepare drawings or plans within scope of practice.
- Manage contractor selection, procurement, and performance to achieve project objectives
- Complete project control tasks including scheduling meetings, updating spend forecasts, cost control, risk assessment and change management.
- Provide input to the Environmental Department regarding regulatory agencies and stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals. Work alongside the mine site operations teams to execute projects and support the development/definition of projects.
- Willingness to learn/be involved with tailings and water management projects at the mine site.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians, and other team members.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or Civil Engineering Technician).
- 3 to 5 years of experience leading project execution.
- Familiarity with large capital projects.
- Ability to transfer complex project information to various stakeholders and incorporating feedback.
- Consulting or operational mine site experience is considered an asset.
- Background knowledge of any of the following is considered an asset: civil/geotechnical engineering, tailings or water management, waste rock storage, mechanical pumping/piping systems, or heavy civil construction.
- Knowledge of appropriate supporting software (including AutoCAD, MS Projects, and MS Office Suite).
- Schedule: 4/3 (Monday to Thursday) schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
