As a Tax Assistant Sr, you’ll be a trusted support partner in a collaborative tax team. You’ll take ownership of specific tasks and processes and collaborate with professionals across departments and external agencies to resolve issues. This role offers meaningful opportunities to apply your expertise, attention to detail, communication skills and problem-solving mindset. - Monitors incoming correspondence related to tax areas to determine appropriate action, routing, or escalation based on content and urgency; makes decisions and resolves issues with little oversight
- Prepares certain tax forms and provides assistance to others preparing tax forms, while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
- Supports the tax team with a variety of tasks, building familiarity with both routine and unique processes
- Processes and monitors system data, subject matter expert in certain internal systems
- Maintians corporate organizational chart and responds to requests for related information and customizations. Provides input and guidance on corporate structure questions from various groups across the company
- Coordinates with records management regarding retention periods for tax-relevant records and approves destruction requests
- Contributes to additional projects and responsibilities as assigned, with opportunities to expand knowledge and grow within the role
- Other duties as assigned
- Required: High school diploma/GED and six (6) years of experience in similar business support area
- Preferred: Associate degree in business, computer information systems or legal studies related field or four (8) years of experience in related in similar business support area
- Demonstrates outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Vizio
- Communicates effectively in both written and verbal formats while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Applies strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of work
- Learns quickly and adapts to new systems, processes and team expectations with agility
