The Maintenance Work Center Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Work Center Supervisor is responsible for directing the activities of the Maintenance Shift Supervisors in the performance of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance and to provide support on facilities and equipment within approved programs, processes, and procedures, and personnel training limitations. These activities may include maintenance of electrical equipment; electronic and pneumatic instrumentation and controls; computers and programmable controllers; and mechanical maintenance, such as valve, pump and mechanical equipment repair and replacement.
The Maintenance Work Center Supervisor is responsible for overall plant maintenance activities, being performed by Centrus Maintenance, or in conjunction with approved construction crews at the site to ensure safe and reliable performance of equipment and facilities using preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance techniques. These services include equipment and system troubleshooting; maintenance of logs and records; work control and planning to initiate, screen, evaluate, and prioritize maintenance work; and coordinating shop maintenance activities. The Maintenance Work Center Supervisor, in conjunction with Operations Management is also responsible for integrated planning; and schedule adherence; This includes maintenance of logs and records; managing daily work control activities; maintenance of an integrated work schedule to initiate, screen, evaluate, and prioritize maintenance work; coordinating shop maintenance activities; and coordinating development of work control guidelines.
The Maintenance Work Center Supervisor has the authority to stop work and/or shut down activities in any part of the operation for which he/she has responsibility. If such authority is exercised, the Maintenance Work Center Supervisor must concur with restart of those shutdown operations.
- Assigns, schedules, and instructs personnel in the maintenance of centrifuges and supporting systems in accordance with approved procedures
- Monitors work of assigned areas for compliance with procedures, and directs operations using approved procedures or test plans under normal, off-normal and emergency response conditions
- Ensures all activities are clearly documented, and maintains a narrative log of shift activities and maintenance evolutions
- Issues work permits as required
- Performs Change Evaluations and reviews as needed
- Ensures qualified personnel are available to complete assigned work
- Instructs employees in the maintenance and test procedures, safety, environmental, Quality Assurance, and security-related matters
- Accountable for materials, parts, and supplies under their jurisdiction
- Responsible for the safe and efficient work area and work practices
- Performs routine walk-through inspections of assigned areas and documents and provides resolution for identified deficiencies
- Directs the maintenance of computerized instrumentation and control systems
- Assists in the development and validation of test plans, procedures, and training material
- Ensures the workforce includes and is conducive to the participation of individuals with diverse ethnic backgrounds, both genders, including those with and without disabilities
- Enforces and adheres to company policies, procedures, code of conduct, security and environmental and safety program requirements
This position is accountable for the safety of all authorized plant activities performed by Maintenance personnel. This position requires familiarity with, and adherence to, the requirements of the plant safety and health program (Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Radiation Protection, Safety Analysis, Nuclear Criticality Safety, and OSHA Programs) to ensure the protection of employees and the public from the effects of accidents involving radiological, chemical, electrical, or other physical hazards associated with plant activities.
This position has the authority to provide leadership, planning and direction for activities necessary to conduct business to meet regulatory requirements and to support corporate mission.
The Maintenance Work Center Supervisor is appointed by the Maintenance Manager with concurrence from the Enrichment Plant Operations Manager.
The Maintenance Work Center Supervisor has, as a minimum, a high school diploma or satisfactory completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test, and three years of industrial/chemical/nuclear plant operations, maintenance, engineering, or support experience. The Maintenance Work Center Supervisor must have three years of supervisory experience or completion of a supervisory training course.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a DOE security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
