Second Shift Warehouse Lead

Our West Chester, OH facility, is currently seeking a dependable and motivated Second Shift Warehouse Supervisor to help oversee and support warehouse operations. Position Summary

This is a working lead role, where you'll spend roughly 50% on the floor and 50% in the office. You will be responsible for leading and supporting second shift operations, ensuring safety standards, workflow efficiency, and team accountability.

Key Responsibilities

· Train, supervise, and develop second shift warehouse staff to meet individual and company goals

· Oversee shift operations to ensure workflow efficiency and timely, accurate order fulfillment

· Verify outgoing loads for accuracy, identification, appearance, and safety

· Inspect incoming loads and report quantity and condition to the purchasing department

· Coordinate and dispatch delivery trucks efficiently, meeting customer deadlines and requirements

· Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation related to shipping, receiving, and inventory accurately

· Coordinate material transfers with other branch locations

· Serve as a key resource for communication, training, safety, mechanical issues, HR concerns, and customer service

· Maintain clear communication between shifts to ensure continuity of operations

· Promote and enforce safety policies; hold team members accountable to all safety standards

· Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, bandsaws, overhead cranes) as needed to support productivity

· Use company inventory and warehouse systems to locate materials, manage orders, and monitor workflow

· Communicate with management and sales staff via Outlook regarding orders and operational updates

· Perform other duties as assigned to support company operations

· Maintain consistent and reliable attendance — this is an essential function of the role

Required Qualifications

· 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or steel service environment

· Hands-on experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and bandsaws

· Strong knowledge of safety protocols in industrial or steel-handling settings

· Proficient in using measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers)

· Willing and able to work second shift hours (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) with flexibility for overtime

· Strong leadership and team management abilities: delegation, accountability, motivation, and conflict resolution

· Proficient in computer systems, including Outlook, basic inventory systems, and documentation processes

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Dependable and punctual with a solid attendance record

Preferred Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED (required at minimum)

· 2+ years of experience in the steel or industrial warehouse industry

· Previous supervisor or team lead experience strongly preferred

· Familiarity with steel service centers or metal distribution environments

· Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and general computer applications
