Carmeuse Lime & Stone has a corporate history that dates back almost 150 years. The Carmeuse Group S.A., the Belgium-based parent company, was founded in 1860. The Carmeuse Group has operations in 13 countries, with over 90 production facilities, up to 5,000 employees, and annual production sales of more than 48 million tons of finished products.  

The Carmeuse Group entered North America in 1992, establishing a corporate office in Pittsburgh, PA and acquiring several lime companies including Beachville Lime Limited, Marblehead Lime, Inc., Pennsylvania Lime, Inc., Ohio Lime, Inc., Millersville Lime, Inc., Detroit Lime, Northern Lime Limited, and Dundas Lime Limited. The additional acquisition of the Pittsburgh-based Dravo Corporation in 1998 helped position Carmeuse as the leading lime supplier in the Eastern U.S. and Canada with 15 plants at that time.    

 

In February 2008, Carmeuse took control of Oglebay Norton, thereby doubling the size of the company and expanding its product range. Now, collectively known as Carmeuse Lime & Stone. The company has 28 plants that supply and serve most of the USA and Eastern Canada with lime and limestone and employs more than 2,000 people.

North America - Carmeuse Lime & Stone is the largest producer of lime and limestone products in North America, manufacturing and distributing up to 7 million tons per year of finished products. We provide another 25 million tons of high purity chemical limestone and aggregates. Our 28 manufacturing facilities supply and serve 33 states and provinces in the eastern USA and Canada, and employ over 2,000 employees.

Carmeuse Lime & Stone is the largest producer of lime and limestone products in North America.

We are looking for a motivated and dependable Terminal Operator to support operations at our Batavia Storage Facility. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities & Duties** :

- Loading and unloading of inbound and outbound trucks and rail cars
- Maintaining and operating facilities and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to keep operations running smoothly
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety excellence.
- Be prepared for early mornings, nights, and occasional weekend work.
- This is a hands-on active role that requires physical stamina.

**Job Qualifications** :

- Equipment operating experience such as : loader, backhoe, skid steer, etc. is required.
- General understanding and experience with material handling including : pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems is required.
- Must be able to work and communicate with the terminal manager directly along with the rest of the team.

**Pay:**

- $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
