Job Summary The Senior Renewable Fuels Project Manager manages commercial, industrial, builder/developer, rural extension, and renewable energy projects providing an exceptional customer experience and attaining repeat business all while ensuring that the company meets its financial and program enrollment goals. The scope of this role includes NiSource gas distribution and electric projects related to renewable fuels.
Essential Functions•Reviews and analyzes complex construction drawings, permits, easements, agreements, and other miscellaneous documents for the design of gas and electric projects using renewable fuels.
•Educated in gas and electric industry related knowledge and can provide technical advice to customers. Ability to advise customer on both sides of meter: our installation process in front of the meter as well as what the customer can anticipate behind the meter.
•Builds relationships with key organizations and external stakeholders.
•Collaborates with team members to advance NiSource’s renewable fuel strategy execution.
•Works to provide efficient and timely completion of renewable fuel utility projects through to the installation of the meter interfacing with internal departments to provide exceptional customer experience.
•Manages commit dates to ensure that all internal resources and materials are planned and aligned with customer’s site readiness.
•Understands and can communicate to customers, the company tariff, and how it impacts the project.
•Seeks capital authorization for renewable fuel investments in compliance with policy.
•Contracts with customer for service as specified and authorized by policy.
•Manages multiple complex renewable fuel projects simultaneously at various stages of completion and recognize job site issues.
•Capability to efficiently perform duties under stringent deadlines, schedules, and conditions.
•Takes on additional special assignments related to renewable fuels.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Required Qualifications For Position
•Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
•Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in gas and electric distribution and transmission engineering principles.
•Ability to read/interpret construction prints, understand and apply basic surveying principles.
•Proven success in managing prior New Business project.
•Proficient in Microsoft 365 and NiSource’s work management systems and customer relationship management solutions.
•Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
•High degree of organizational and planning skills.
•Elevated level of people skills with the ability to communicate well with others and ability to manage and resolve demanding situations.
•Demonstrated problem solving, organization, time management, analytical and planning skills.
•Exercises independent judgment and initiates solutions with little supervision.
•Capable of taking on additional responsibilities and Mentoring others
•Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
•Experience managing Large Projects through completion; contract negotiation including minimum use and true up terms.
•Experience representing New Business on external committees and organizations.
•Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI PMI Project Management certification Upon Hire

Salary Range*:
$67,900.00 - $140,700.00
•The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
