We have three modern manufacturing plants plus a dedicated technical division for our engineering and die making capabilities, all centrally located in northeast Ohio. Press sizes range from 1,300 to 6,000 tons, forging approximately 125,000 tons of steel annually. Forgings we provide range from 2 to 300 pounds, all produced to the latest International quality standards. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the Quality Engineer position at our E78th forge plant in Cleveland, OH, reporting directly to the Quality Manager.
The Quality Engineer ensures products, processes, and systems meet quality, safety, and performance standards by developing quality control procedures, conducting audits and tests, analyzing data, identifying issues, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with teams to drive continuous improvement. The Quality Engineer also ensures compliance with Presrite’s quality system, and regulations such as ISO standards.
- Coordinate/facilitate resolution of manufacturing related quality issues.
- Represent quality function as required in meetings/discussions for resolution of quality issues involving customers/suppliers, including customer liaison.
- Represent quality function on material review board and APQP function.
- Initiate the use of appropriate quality/statistical techniques, methods and studies to improve the quality of Presrite products and processes, increasing customer satisfaction.
- Seek out and demonstrate active involvement in continuous improvement activities (departmental, plant, and Corporate).
- Conduct internal quality audits.
- Mentor hourly inspection personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Possess and demonstrate knowledge of the quality policy and how it relates to customer requirements.
- Working knowledge of the use of control plans, FMEA, APQP and PPAP processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years working in a quality role in a manufacturing environment (forging experience is a strong plus).
- Ability to work well as part of a team, lead teams and use problem solving techniques for root cause analysis.
- Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data (SPC, Six Sigma), including capability studies and gage R&R/MSA; knowledge of quality engineering concepts.
- Create/utilize charts and reports utilizing Quality Management System (QMS) and Microsoft Office. Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office programs and related software.
- Demonstrated experience applying quality engineering concepts, and quality system requirements including ISO-9000 and MAQMSR series documents.
