Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled professional to join our Canton, OH facility as an Overnight (3rd shift) Production Supervisor (7pm-4:30am, Sun through Thurs). This full-time salaried position requires a leader who will manage all facets of manufacturing and shipping operations, while promoting a culture of safety and teamwork within the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Production Operations: Direct daily production activities to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality output.
- Monitor and Enhance Performance: Analyze production metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement strategies to boost productivity and efficiency.
- Team Management: Supervise and support production staff, including scheduling, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Ensure Compliance: Enforce adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards, and uphold company policies and procedures.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve production issues or bottlenecks to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with quality control, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operational integration.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee routine maintenance and repairs of production equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including metrics, progress, and any issues.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure material availability and minimize waste.
- Promote Positive Work Environment: Foster a collaborative and supportive work culture to enhance team morale and productivity.
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field or a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Fitter/Welder.
- Proficiency in production scheduling and process management.
- Familiarity with AISC quality standards.
- Knowledge of current health and safety regulations.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, operations, process design, and quality control.
- Ability to interpret structural steel erection and fabrication drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, coordinate effectively, and exhibit strong interpersonal communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Completion of a background check and drug screening is required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for insurability.
- Shop environment with temperature variations depending on season.
- PPE required, including welding helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.
