As a Process Engineer – Rolling, you’ll play a key role in improving product quality and reducing costs through process optimization, trials of new methods and materials, and collaboration with R&D teams.
- Provide technical support for hot rolling operations, including reheat furnaces, piercer, rolling mill, sizer, and straightener.
- Maintain and improve standard operating procedures.
- Train operators and reduce variation in key process indicators.
- Lead Continuous Improvement Teams.
- Benchmark existing technologies and evaluate new processes and materials.
- Identify and present Capital Expenditure projects; lead CapEx initiatives.
- Coordinate project activities with Vallourec R&D centers, external research organizations, and universities.
We’re looking for individuals who bring the right mix of experience, mindset, and motivation:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or metallurgical engineering/Material Science (or equivalent).
- 1–3 years of steel industry experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including statistical techniques.
- Effective oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Project management experience for process improvement and/or product development.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and team-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
