The Inventory Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper valuation of inventory, and supporting financial reporting through detailed analysis and reconciliation. This role plays a key part in optimizing inventory control and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
•Record and reconcile inventory transactions in the general ledger
•Perform daily, monthly, and annual inventory audits
•Analyze inventory variances and investigate discrepancies
•Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost analysis
•Collaborate with supply chain, purchasing, and warehouse teams
•Prepare inventory-related reports for internal and external stakeholders
•Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
•Support internal and external audits related to inventory
•Develop and improve inventory control procedures
Qualifications
•CPA or CMA certification
•Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
•2+ years of experience in inventory or cost accounting
•Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory valuation methods
•Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
