At Vallourec, we are seeking individuals whose passion and dedication match the strength and resilience of the steel we produce. As an Electrical Engineer, you will produce workable solutions to engineering problems and electrical-related plant issues. You will design projects that resolve these issues quickly with minimal operational interference while keeping costs within budget constraints.
Your Role at a Glance
- Develop, prepare, and execute capital improvement ideas and projects from inception to completion.
- Write and/or approve engineering specifications, designs, and spare parts lists.
- Develop, recommend, and implement migration paths for obsolete controls and components.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and direct installation of new or existing components on all projects, including project status reports.
- Establish priorities with reliability and energy conservation in mind.
- Manage, direct, and execute all assigned area capital projects.
- Maintain equipment drawings, including updates and changes, and work with vendors to ensure complete drawing management.
- Provide monthly energy reporting and manage the plant’s Wonderware SCADA system.
- Deliver high-voltage electrical engineering support for plant distribution systems and equipment.
- Serve as the assigned technical expert for projects managed by other Project Managers.
- Provide technical support for facility maintenance and daily problem-solving/root cause analysis to increase OEE.
- Communicate with maintenance, operations supervisors, and process engineers to solve and prevent mill issues.
- Apply guidelines, practices, and procedures of Reliability-Based Maintenance, Safety, Environmental, Quality Control, and Energy Conservation.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong mathematical skills for calculations and measurements.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Mechanical, electrical, leadership, and engineering experience.
- BS in Electrical Engineering and a preferred minimum of 5 years in manufacturing or heavy industrial equipment environment.
