Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Die Setter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and adjusting dies in stamping presses to ensure optimal production efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, quality control, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment.
Duties
•Set up and adjust dies in stamping presses for production runs, load coils of sheet metal on presses, set up and adjust clamps and stops.
•Load and secure stamping dies onto presses. Operate stamping presses and measure workpiece dimensions. Visual inspection of first piece.
•Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances. Conduct quality assurance tests.
•Assemble nests and dies to perform various single hit operations including float pierce, cushion pierce, semi blank, temp blank and various compounds using hand tools.
•Measure workpiece dimensions throughout to ensure quality and repeatability.
•Observe tool and machine operation to detect workpiece defects or malfunction.
•Issue job, safely check in the Press Operator once set up is complete.
•Perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
•Collaborate with quality control and other team members to meet production targets and address any issues or concerns.
•Maintain accurate records of production runs, including any adjustments made during the process.
•Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
•Proven experience with stamping presses (2 years)
•Knowledge of welding processes is beneficial.
•Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers.
•Knowledge of press operations and safety procedures.
•Strong understanding of quality control standards and practices.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
•Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
•Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
