The Compliance Instructor - Training focuses on Ethics & Compliance training for the organization. The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Training & Communications Team executes the E&C training & communications strategies. Responsibilities include establishing the near and long-term plans for E&C training & communications, working collaboratively with other FirstEnergy leaders, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the company's diverse workforce is appropriately trained, and driving consistent and engaging E&C messaging.
The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) group works to strengthen the company’s ethics and compliance profile for FirstEnergy’s operating companies. The team interacts with various functions to promote trust and respect, manage ethics and compliance risks, promote ethical business conduct, develop policies, procedures, and controls, and manage complaints and concerns. The team also performs risk assessments, conducts investigations, coordinates training, and manages ethics and compliance communications.
The position is ON-SITE and can be in OH, PA, NJ, MD, or WV, with travel as needed.
- Managing day-to-day training initiatives and continuous improvement
- Working across FE operating companies to develop and deliver relevant employee raining program activities including:
- Updating and maintaining training content
- Documenting training activities and maintaining all appropriate training records
- Maintaining and tracking completion rates and ensuring completion of attestation forms
- Working with external vendor(s) and FirstEnergy’s Learning and Development group to develop interactive and effective E&C training programs
- Creating and monitoring user training accounts and assigning E&C training to internal employees and contractors
- Updating and enhancing E&C training when new risks and obligations are identified by other functions
- Compiling and communicating training status reports and training metrics fore various stakeholders, including management teams
- Providing support and troubleshooting for learners with questions about the training and/or learning management system(s)
- Making recommendations on future improvements to workflow processes and user experience
- Working recommendations on future improvements to workflow processes and user experience
- Working cross-functionally, including providing training records for audit inquiries.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Education or related discipline is required
- Minimum 10 years relevant work experience is required. Relevant work experience includes program development / training, curriculum design and execution or similar.
- Experience with adult learning concepts
- Able to identify, develop and implement efficiencies to improve work processes
- Demonstrated proficiency with e-learning software
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, written verbal, and oral communication skills
- Project Management experience
- Pragmatic Management experience
- Pragmatic with strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
