We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to lead our administrative functions and provide strategic direction for our organization. The CAO will oversee a diverse team of professionals, including the IT Manager, HR Coordinator, Safety, Building and Grounds, and Inventory Specialist. The ideal candidate should possess a strong blend of leadership, organizational, and operational expertise to drive the efficient and effective functioning of our administrative departments.
· Develop and implement administrative strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
· Provide leadership and guidance to the administrative team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
· Collaborate with senior management to drive process improvements and optimize administrative workflows.
· Directly manage and mentor the IT Manager, HR Coordinator, Safety, Building and Grounds, and Inventory Specialist.
· Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback.
· Foster professional growth and development within the administrative team.
· Oversee the IT Manager in ensuring the availability and reliability of the organization's technology infrastructure, systems, and software.
· Collaborate with the HR Coordinator to manage talent acquisition, employee onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, monitor workplace safety initiatives, and develop plans to mitigate potential risks.
· Supervise the management of building maintenance, grounds upkeep, and facilities-related projects.
· Oversee inventory management processes, including procurement, storage, distribution, and tracking.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure administrative support for various departments, fostering inter-departmental communication and coordination.
· Work closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings.
· Develop and manage budgets for the administrative functions, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
· Monitor expenditures and identify opportunities for cost control and resource optimization.
· Provide regular reports on administrative performance and initiatives to the executive team.
· Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
· Proven experience in senior administrative leadership roles, preferably within a similar industry.
· Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop diverse teams.
· Knowledge of IT systems, HR practices, safety protocols, facilities management, and inventory control.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels.
· Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant administrative software.
· At least five years of electric utility experience is preferred.
· 5-10 years of progressive business management or professional staff experience or business management is required.
· At least five years of leadership experience is required.
· Work is performed in a standard office environment, with occasional weekend and evening work and occasional in-state or out-of-state travel.
- Must be able to perform required duties during extended hours in emergencies.
- Knowledge of safety issues affecting office workers.
- Ability to lift and move a box of copy paper weighing approximately 40 pounds.
- Ability to move about and within an office building and on various terrains.
- Ability to frequently stand and walk and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to perform essential functions that require frequent, prolonged viewing and use of computer monitor, keyboard, and computer mouse for extended periods.
· Operates all cooperative equipment in accordance with FESCO policies and procedures, safety rules, manufacturer guidelines, regulations, and codes and seeks input from the CSO when information is unclear, inadequate, or requires interpretation.
· Complies with all FESCO policies, procedures, and safety rules as they apply to communications and recommends to all co-workers the use and practice of the same.
