Engineering Manufacturing Technologies (“EMT”) is a metal component manufacturer located near Binghamton, NY. Our manufacturing facility is over 130,000 sq. ft. and we employ over 100 personnel. EMT has been in business for over 75 years and our manufacturing processes include Punch Press Stampings, Sheet Metal Fabrications, CNC Machining & Turned parts and Assembly & Fulfillment. EMT is known as a leader in our industry and our manufacturing facility houses the “most state of the art” equipment. Our continued growth in the automotive, aerospace, commercial/industrial, DOD, firearm, and pharmaceutical industries requires EMT to hire an experienced CNC Machinist.
The person that we hire supports manufacturing needs through the operation of multi-axis milling centers and helps drive our company in achieving our growth and expansion plans. We are looking for a skilled machinist who has the ability and drive to:
· Setup and operate one or more types of CNC machines (i.e. 3 Axis VMC, 4 Axis VMC, 4 Axis HMC, 5 Axis VMC).
· Load raw materials into machines to produce parts according to specifications.
· Read blueprints and drawings with a basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
· Setup all tooling and work holding with minimal supervision.
· Setup tools in tool holders and obtain accurate tool heights using off-line tool pre-setter.
· Set jigs, fixtures or vises in machine and pickup work offsets using setup sheet.
· Make required adjustments to work offsets and tool offsets to ensure quality of parts.
· Identify and change broken or worn tooling.
· Inspect finished parts utilizing hand tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height stands, dial indicators).
· Perform routine machine maintenance by checking fluid levels and filters.
· Communicate with the team and other departments as required to improve production processes.
We are seeking a motivated machinist who loves a challenging and exciting work environment! If you are the person that we are looking for you will enjoy:
· High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of independent milling machinist experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
· Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
· Strong observation skills of gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly.
· Knowledge of G-code to make small adjustments to code as required.
· Strong problem-solving skills to identify and rectify issues related to the operation of machining centers.
