About This Job

Hart Home Comfort is currently seeking an experienced Truck Mechanic to join our team in New Hyde Park, NY.

Job Summary:

We have an immediate opening for an experienced diesel Truck mechanic to maintain our fleet at our family-owned oil company in New Hyde Park, New York. This position includes the repair and preventative maintenance of our fleet of trucks and Vans.

Job Responsibilities:

- Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests

- Identify worn and damaged parts

- Diesel engine services

- Electrical wiring and repair

- Brake service and repair

- Preventive maintenance

Requirements

Education and Experience:

- Vocational Certificate or equivalent

- 2 - 5 years of relevant experience

- Valid Class A or B CDL license

- Hazmat Endorsements (a plus)

- Experience with home heating oil delivery vehicles & pumping systems

- Experience with Freightliner & Kenworth Diesel Vehicles

- Experience with Mercedes Sprinter Diesel Vans

Skills and Abilities:

- Solid technical understanding

- Safety-orientated, thorough & dependable

- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision

- Strong sense of responsibility

Compensation and Benefits:

- Pay: B scale $36 -$40, A scale $45 - $50
