The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $132,055 - $165,069
The Senior Manager of PNY Stakeholder Strategy plays a pivotal role within the POWERING NEW YORK (PNY) Program Organization, supporting the delivery of large-scale transmission projects that advance New York State’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). This position combines program coordination, stakeholder governance, and strategic communications, providing direct support to the Program Leadership team while enhancing value across the entire program.
Executive Communication & Reporting – Leads the development of high-level presentations, dashboards, and strategic reports for internal executives and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity, alignment, and traceability of project performance and milestones. Stakeholder Communication Governance – Coordinates all internal and external communications related to the CLCPA portfolio, in close collaboration with Public and Regulatory Affairs. Ensures alignment of messages with program objectives, timelines, and regulatory frameworks. Primary Interface for Key Stakeholders – Serves as the main coordination contact for communications with the CEO/President’s office and designated external stakeholders, ensuring requests and messaging are appropriately routed and aligned, in partnership with Public and Regulatory Affairs. Strategic Messaging & Content Oversight – Crafts and implements messaging frameworks that translate complex programmatic updates into compelling narratives for executives, regulators, communities, and investment stakeholders. Program-Wide Coordination – Oversees the planning and execution of leadership meetings, portfolio-wide reviews, and cross-functional engagement forums. Ensures consistency and alignment across disciplines and project teams. Value-Based Program Support – Advises the Program Leadership on decisions that impact long-term value creation, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, stakeholder buy-in, and overall program impact. Organizational & Resource Planning – Manages the structure and evolution of the program’s resource model, ensuring that capacity aligns with project needs and delivery priorities. Internal Communications Management – Maintains transparent and engaging communication within the internal project teams, supporting collaboration, awareness, and accountability. Program Value Communication – Supports the preparation of business cases and investment justifications, reinforcing the value proposition of the PNY Program to senior leadership and regulatory bodies. Cross-Functional Support – Provides coordination support in multidisciplinary task forces to help address complex challenges that emerge across the program, facilitating progress where needed. Support for Standards and Best Practices – Contributes to the application and reinforcement of common processes, tools, and governance practices, in alignment with enterprise PMO standards. Continuous Improvement Participation – Assists in the coordination of lessons learned activities and feedback loops, promoting a culture of learning and program refinement. The individual will be working as part of a global business with activities in many locations across the New York State. The position may require some travel (20%) to various locations.
- Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10-15 years of proven portfolio/project management experience in a delivery-oriented environment.
- Experience in construction projects, with transmission & distribution, and power generation preferable.
- Skills/Abilities:
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship management skills, including working with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to influence key project and business decisions. Proficiency in report writing and summarizing key parameters impacting projects and business.
- Team Coordination: Ability organize, manage, and ultimately lead teams for package delivery.
- Problem-Solving and Innovation: Anticipate problems and implement mitigating solutions. Innovate and think creatively to address conflicting requirements.
- Tenacity and Determination: Persistence in overcoming obstacles to achieve project goals.
