Position: Lead Solar Installer - Part Time

Compensation: $30.00-$50.00 based on experience
What We Are Looking For
NOCO Solar is a growing renewable energy provider committed to delivering high-quality solar installations to residential customers across Western New York. We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Lead Solar Installer to support our busy season with hands-on leadership and quality workmanship.
As a Lead Solar Installer, you’ll be responsible for overseeing on-site solar PV installations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to code.
What You Will Do
•Oversee and participate in the full installation of residential and light commercial rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
•Interpret and execute project plans, layouts, schematics, and electrical diagrams provided by the engineering team.
•Ensure that racking, modules, inverters, conduit, and other system components are installed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, company standards, and applicable codes.
•Direct and delegate tasks to a team of installers and laborers to maintain an efficient workflow.
•Ensure that junior team members are trained on proper installation techniques and safety practices.
•Conduct pre-install briefings and post-install reviews to evaluate crew performance and project outcomes.
•Conduct quality checks at each stage of the installation to confirm work meets company and code standards.
•Troubleshoot and resolve on-site challenges related to electrical or structural aspects of the system.
•Verify system integrity and perform initial system commissioning when required.
•Implement and enforce all safety protocols, including fall protection, electrical safety, and equipment usage.
•Ensure that the job site is clean, organized, and hazard-free at all times.
•Document incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and communicate them promptly to supervisors.
•Serve as the primary point of contact between the field team and office/project management.
•Maintain accurate documentation of job progress, including photo documentation, site conditions, change orders, and time tracking.
•Communicate with homeowners or facility managers during installations to answer questions and provide status updates when appropriate.

What You Will Need
•2+ years of hands-on solar installation experience, preferably in a leadership role
•Proficient with hand and power tools, ladders, and fall protection systems
•Strong understanding of solar electrical systems and roof work
•Ability to read and interpret construction documents and schematics
•OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
