Mpower is proud to offer an exciting opportunity for a Junior Accounting Analyst Candidates will be considered to join Mpower’s Accounting Team at our headquarters in Brooklyn. We seek an organized, detail-obsessed individual with good communication skills. The ideal candidate is proactive and thorough, utilizing their business acumen, accounting skills, software skills, and high attention to detail to produce compelling work.
Responsibilities:
•Material Invoice Reconciliation: Match material purchases to projects, reconciling invoices, purchase orders, and delivery confirmations.
•Lease Charge Oversight: Monitor upfront and recurring lease payments, confirm receipt, update ACH/payment details, and validate alignment with contracts and usage.
•Invoicing & Expense Tracking: Ensure timely vendor invoice payments, track and verify customer expenses with vendors, and confirm accurate documentation in accounting software.
•Amex Reconciliation: Reconcile monthly American Express statements for all entities, ensuring receipts, internal approvals, and accurate expense categorization in accounting software.
•Collections Process: Collaborate with management to maintain a structured collections process, follow up on delinquent accounts, and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
•CRM Financial Data Entry: Maintain accurate and up-to-date ACH and customer information in the CRM system.
•Welcome Check Management: Oversee preparation, processing, and distribution of welcome checks for new customers, ensuring accuracy in amounts, timing, and delivery.
•AR Documentation Management: Act as the departmental librarian for AP/AR, organizing and maintaining accessible records of all transactions and financial communications.
•Inventory Oversight – Solar Equipment: Track solar equipment inventory usage by job and maintain accurate, current records.
•Job Cost & Cash Flow Monitoring: Monitor job-related expenses for proper allocation and track cash flow to ensure financial transparency and health.
•Financial Reporting Support: Assist in preparing financial summaries, reports, and budgets, providing key data to support senior staff.
•Ad Hoc Items: Perform additional financial tasks as assigned, including ad hoc projects, data analysis, or process improvements to support the accounting and finance team.
Qualifications:
● 1–3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related role.
● Strong understanding of AP/AR and general accounting principles.
● Experience with inventory management and cost verification.
● Familiarity with customer billing and lease-based service models is a plus.
● Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Excel.
● Bilingual – Spanish speaking preferred
● High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
