Role Overview
The Infrastructure Lead owns TerraForm Power’s IT and OT hardware lifecycle and telecom infrastructure operations from the Albany area, with frequent work in Queensbury, and travel to sites. You will lead telecom services, build and run the staging bench, and prepare, configure, and ship equipment to renewable energy sites across North America. You will also serve as the on‑site technology lead during the build of our new Operations Center in 2026, partnering with contractors and vendors to deliver a robust, scalable environment. This role is critical to ensuring reliable connectivity and operational readiness across TerraForm Power’s renewable portfolio.
Key Responsibilities Infrastructure and Telecom Operations
- Lead daily infrastructure and telecom operations for corporate offices, the Remote Operation Center (ROC), and field sites.
- Oversee the preparation of equipment for deployment to sites, including staging, documentation, and shipment coordination.
- Maintain accurate inventories, shipping and receiving processes, and clear records of assets and moves.
- Serve as the technology lead for new facility projects, including the Albany ROC build in 2026.
- Partner with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure infrastructure, telecom, and data room requirements are delivered to standard.
- Coordinate structured cabling, telecom rooms, security and AV readiness, and network cutover plans.
- Act as an Albany based resource for construction coordination, troubleshooting, and vendor management.
- Provide hands-on support for infrastructure deployment, testing, and cutovers at new or upgraded sites.
- Work closely with the Director, Technology, to align infrastructure priorities with business goals.
- Coordinate with IT, OT, and Cybersecurity teams to support secure and reliable operations across a distributed portfolio.
- Lead vendors and contractors providing telecom and facility related services, and ensure deliverables meet quality, safety, and schedule expectations.
- 7+ years in IT infrastructure or telecom engineering roles.
- Strong expertise across enterprise networking, security, SD WAN and wireless, and telecom service delivery (LAN/WAN, firewalls, SD-WAN, wireless, telecom systems).
- Experience with hardware staging, imaging, logistics, and documentation for multi-site deployments.
- Proven experience leading technology components of facility build-outs, including cabling, racks, data centers, operational centers, AV/security, and related systems.
- Ability to manage vendor relationships and coordinate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in renewable energy, utilities, or other distributed asset-heavy industries.
- Familiarity with SCADA/OT concepts/environments and hybrid IT/OT infrastructure.
- Prior experience supporting or building a ROC/NOC/SOC or similar operational center.
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, Network+, or PMP are an asset.- Onsite role based in Albany with regular work in Queensbury and travel to operating sites in the US and Canada.
- Work in lab, warehouse, construction, and operating plant environments following HSSE practices and company procedures.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, travel up to 20%.

Salary range: $120,000-$135,000; bonus eligible
