We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Finance to join our team. In this role, you will be
responsible for leading the controllership, treasury, taxation, [internal audit] and other associated
teams at LAC as well as the administrative activities for LAC’s Vancouver office. This is a unique
opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization committed to innovation, sustainability,

The role is based at our Vancouver office and reports to the EVP & CFO. Travel to other LAC
offices, project sites and vendor locations will be required.
- Vancouver office administration – manage the Vancouver office from an administrative
perspective. In coordination with senior management and human resources, set
appropriate policies and make administrative decisions for the office. Mentor and
manage employees in coordination with other leaders and managers in the Vancouver
office.
- Nevada Operational Business Readiness (OBR) – work closely with OBR team to
support their operational and business readiness activities for Thacker Pass, including
those related to revenue accounting, capital accounting and other finance and
accounting functions that will become increasingly necessary as Thacker Pass
progresses toward, and eventually begins, production.
- Controllership - lead (and improve) controllership and accounting activities across the
organization, including:
- Preparing financial statements and other information to meet statutory and
stakeholder (DOE, GM JV, Orion, etc.) reporting requirements.
- Monthly close processes, including for existing activities as well as new activities
(e.g. revenue accounting, capital accounting, inventory valuation, etc.) that will
become increasingly necessary as Thacker Pass progresses towards, and
eventually begins, production.
- Audit planning and related execution and reporting, including (in conjunction with
the EVP & CFO and Audit & Risk Committee) managing the selection of, and
relationship with, LAC’s external auditors.
- Other finance & accounting – develop and oversee, direct, and organize all other
controllership activities across LAC, including managing the selection of, and
relationship with, an associated service providers.
- Internal audit – lead (and improve) internal audit activities across the organization,
including:
- Ensuring compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley as well as other
internal control over financial reporting requirements.
- Plan, execute, monitor and report the results of LAC’s internal audit activities.
- Manage the selection of, and relationship with, LAC’s internal audit service
provider.
- Financial planning and analysis – assist the VP, FP&A in annual budgeting, forecasting
and management reporting activities. Contribute to the development of strategic
operational goals and objectives for the Company.
- Information systems and technology – assist the VP, IT in those aspects of information
systems and technology that touch finance and accounting, including SAP and other
system upgrades, etc.
- Insurance and risk management – in conjunction with the VP, FP&A, manage the
company’s D&O, general liability, property and various other insurance programs, as
well as maintain relationships with associated brokers, providers, etc.
- Risk – in conjunction with the VP, FP&A, manage LAC’s various enterprise risk
management activities, including reporting to senior management, the Audit & Risk
Committee and the Board.
- Treasury – in conjunction with the EVP & CFO and the broader Finance team, assist in
managing LAC’s Treasury activities, including cash management, debt compliance, bank
and other relationship management, etc.
- Taxation – manage tax compliance, planning and reporting activities, including the
selection of, and relationship with, associated service providers.
- Accounts Payable – lead the company’s Accounts Payable team and associated
activities.
- Procurement – support the operations team, as required, with any procurement-related
activities.
- Share capital and equity plan – assist Human Resources and Corporate Secretary with
the share capital and equity plan activities.
- Business development and special projects – in conjunction with the EVP & CFO as well
as the broader Finance team, etc., support the business development and special
project activities of the organization.
- Mentor and develop finance and accounting staff using a supportive and collaborative
approach: assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, monitor and evaluate
results, etc.
- Builds and maintain trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture

- Perform other duties as assigned by the EVP & CFO, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) status preferred.
- At least ten (10) years of experience in the financial function of a company, including leadership experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and
SharePoint).
