We are looking for an HR Generalist with experience in the electrical construction industry to support both office and field operations. This role will work closely with the Director of Safety and People to keep HR processes compliant, support field teams, and handle day-to-day HR needs.
· Maintain HR documents, forms, and policies to meet state requirements.
· Track updates to state labor laws and ensure the company stays compliant.
· Assist in handling HR issues that occur onsite.
· Conduct or help conduct workplace investigations (field and office).
· Support managers and foremen with HR-related questions.
· Assist with or manage termination documentation and procedures, ensuring compliance with NV and CA laws.
· Work with union agreements, dispatch procedures, and employee classifications.
· Assist with grievances, tracking hours, and communication with union representatives.
· Review resumes and screen candidates for field and office roles.
· Help with hiring needs across all departments (Safety, Admin, Accounting, Project Management, Warehouse, etc.).
· Coordinates all onboarding processes including paperwork and background and drug checks.
· Work with hiring managers to understand job needs and match qualified candidates.
· Keep employee files accurate and up to date.
· Enter and maintain employee information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
· Update compliance checklists, certifications, and training records.
· Track leaves of absence and support return-to-work processes with also coordinating with leaves
· Work closely with Safety to track training and support incident investigation, with also working on workers comp.
· Coordinate with payroll on timecards, union classifications, and jobsite assignments.
· Prepare documentation for discipline and termination as needed.
· Assist with company culture projects, events, and communication.
· 2–4 years of HR experience, preferably in construction or a similar trade.
· Strong understanding of NV or CA employment laws.
· HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) is a plus but not required.
