Your Next Challenge Your Contribution:
As an Intern reporting to the Senior Grade Control technician, you'll be integrated in the Geology Department and collaborate closely with other Departments of the operation. Your role will involve ensuring the achievement of set goals and objectives while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental values.
- Drill, blast and excavation monitoring in regard to the mine geology grade control standards.
- QA/QC on the field (regular audits of the quality of the sampling);
- Layout of ore packets on the blasted muck to define the different ore zones before mining;
- Daily sample collection from the mine, shipment to the lab and monitoring.
- Possible involvement with the underground production geology team on a daily need basis.
- Any other tasks that the senior grade control and/or production geologist might identify.
- Position is approximately 90% field work and 10% office work.
What You Need To Succeed
What You Need To Succeed:- Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in any geoscience or geological engineering studies or related fields;
- Mining experience is an asset;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment is an asset;
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken;
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication and team building skills.
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
