Key Project Requirements
- Proficient in Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) operations, calibrations, and maintenance.
- Prior IC&E Technician experience in a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facility.
- Skilled in calibration, testing, troubleshooting, FAT, acceptance testing, commissioning, DCS/PLC, and LOTO procedures.
Job Summary
NAES Corporation has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Instrumentation Controls & Electronics (IC&E) Technician for a combined cycle gas turbine generating station located in New Mexico. The IC&E Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Manager, and is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, repairing and troubleshooting the instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems in the Plant associated with the facilities. The IC&E Technician is a “journeymen” level position, involving subject matter expert level knowledge in instrumentation, controls, low and medium voltage switchgear, transformers, generators, protective relays, and motor control centers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Calibrate, install, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment.
- Perform preventive/corrective maintenance on MCCs, MOVs, generators, PLCs, DC backup systems, turbine control equipment, and protective relays.
- Troubleshoot DCS/SCADA, Profibus, 4-20mA loops, analog/digital control systems, and fieldbus logic.
- Conduct FAT, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and loop checks.
- Use test equipment including Fluke meters (789, 724, 726, 745), Hart Communicators (475/TREX), and Bently Nevada vibration systems (Proximitor, ADRE).
- Maintain and troubleshoot medium- and low-voltage systems (4kV, 480V, 220V, 110V, 24V).
- Experience with gas turbines, HRSGs, emissions control systems, AC/DC distribution, and related plant systems.
- Skilled in calibration and testing of I&C systems, including analytical equipment.
- Proficient in PLC programming, relay logic, I/O systems, and protection relays (GE, Siemens, SEL – 751, 787, 387).
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs, vibration monitoring, and CMMS systems
- Strong safety awareness and LOTO knowledge.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Technical school degree is preferred, not required.
- 8+ years of experience in the operation, maintenance and administration of powerhouses, utility systems or similar plant assets.
