Human Resources Specialist (Temporary)Warbonnet Construction – Carlsbad, NM

Warbonnet Construction is seeking a temporary Human Resources Specialist to support a high-volume onboarding effort in our Carlsbad, NM operations.This role is critical to helping us efficiently process a large influx of field employees in a fast-paced oil and gas construction environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, bilingual (English/Spanish), and comfortable working with both field personnel and management.This is a temporary position expected to support an upcoming surge in hiring activity.

Key ResponsibilitiesOnboarding & Hiring Support

- Coordinate with hiring managers to receive and process new hire information

- Prepare and distribute onboarding paperwork

- Enter and maintain employee information in HR systems

- Schedule and coordinate pre-employment drug screenings

- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and timely

- Communicate onboarding requirements clearly in both English and Spanish

Employee Profile Maintenance

- Maintain accurate employee records and profiles

- Process employee status changes

- Coordinate with HR to relay, update, and verify personnel information

- Ensure compliance documentation is complete and properly filed

Termination Processing

- Process employee separations in internal systems

- Coordinate collection of company-issued assets (PPE, tools, devices, badges, etc.)

- Ensure access is removed from relevant systems and platforms

- Maintain accurate termination records and documentation

Qualifications

- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)

- Previous HR, administrative, or workforce coordination experience preferred

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite (required)

- QuickBooks experience preferred

- Ability to manage high-volume paperwork with accuracy

- Strong organizational and follow-through skills

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction or industrial environment

- Professional communication skills with both field employees and leadership

- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
