As we continue to grow and invest in our operations, Scotia Recycling Ltd. (SRL) is searching for a skilled and experienced Class 1 Driver in St. Johns, Newfoundland.
This is a full-time, permanent position with service focused on the St. John’s, Clarenville, Carbonear and Bay Roberts service areas. These truck runs typically consists of both dock and off-the-ground pick up service using a forklift & lift-gate system.
- Holds safety as a personal value and will make suggestions for improvement
- Friendly and courteous interaction with customers
- Operation of a tractor trailer with lift-gate in a safe and efficient manner adhering to all highway regulations
- Completion of pre/post-trip inspections
- Completion of daily trip reports and maintenance of Log Books
- Loading and unloading trailers with forklift and lift-gate system
- Must be able to complete medium work (up to 50lbs)
- Ability to work in hot and cold weather
- Good housekeeping skills are required
- Must possess strong customer service skills and be safety conscious
- Class 1 Drivers License with air brakes
- Clean drivers abstract and background check
- Fork-lift experience and/or certification
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Has computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Possesses good hand/eye coordination and attention to detail
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- First Aid certification is an asset
