We are seeking a hands-on leader to manage production of continuous emissions monitoring equipment, overseeing mechanical and electrical technicians across assembly, wiring, calibration, testing, and final system integration. This role owns day-to-day output, safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and partners closely with Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality to scale a rapidly growing operation.
- Own the master production schedule, capacity planning, and daily/weekly work plans; balance labor and equipment across assembly, wiring, test, and shipping.
- Lead daily stand-ups; remove blockers and continuously sequence work to hit customer delivery dates.
- Supervise and develop mechanical and electrical technicians (hiring, training, performance management, shift coverage).
- Build a cross-trained, flexible workforce; implement skills matrices and certification paths (e.g., wiring, pneumatics, calibration, FAT).
- Ensure builds meet engineering specifications, BOMs, and work instructions; enforce configuration control and revision discipline.
- Partner with Quality to execute incoming inspection, in-process checks, and final test/FAT.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety requirements, and CEMS-specific QA/QC practices (e.g., calibration traceability).
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure material availability (sensors, analyzers, probes, sample lines, cabinets, PLCs, harnesses), manage shortages, and plan substitutions with Engineering approval.
- Champion a zero-injury culture.
- Ensure compliant handling of calibration gases and waste streams consistent with environmental health and safety standards.- 5+ years in electromechanical manufacturing; 3+ years leading production teams.
- Experience managing technicians who assemble, wire, and test complex instrumentation or industrial systems.
- Strong command of production scheduling and capacity planning.
- Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams; comfortable with PLC/control panel builds.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills; hands-on, shop-floor presence.
- Experience in CEMS or process analyzers, gas sampling systems, or emissions instrumentation.
- Familiarity with EPA CEMS QA/QC practices (e.g., calibration gas traceability; supporting RATA/QA activities with customers).
- Exposure to ISO 14001, UL/CE panel standards, and DFM/ECO processes.
- On-site leadership role in a light industrial setting with assembly cells, test bays, calibration gases, and panel fabrication.
- May require early/late coverage for shift handoffs; occasional weekend support during surge periods.- Salary range: $68,000–$85,000 (DOE) + bonus tied to OTD/FPY/backlog reduction.
