Overview
We are seeking an Assistant IT Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be able to assist with the management and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security across all systems. This role requires a background in computer networking, desktop support and window server administration. The Assistant IT Administrator needs to be well organized, as he or she will be responsible for managing licenses, contracts and other paperwork in the division. The candidate should also have good communication skills as he or she will be responsible for supporting our organization's workforce by keeping our hardware and software up-to-date and running.
- Assist in administering and maintaining IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and windows desktops.
- Maintain employee workstations and printers.
- Ensure information security protocols are followed to protect sensitive data.
- Manage virtualization technologies such as VMware.
- Assist remote users with RDS and VPN connection issues.
- Manage daily and monthly reports and uploads of data to Onbase and Tape Backup systems.
- Maintain company phone systems.
- Administer company IT subscriptions and contracts for phones, hardware, service and software.
- Participate in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by providing insights on system design and architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure management.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and practices.
- Strong knowledge of Office 365 and Teams.
- Familiarity with VMWare, Veeam, Barracuda and/or Watchguard is helpful.
- Experience with Printer Configuration and Support is highly desirable.
- Must be organized and willing to manage paperwork for the department such as IT subscriptions, licenses and user databases .
- Candidate must have strong communication skills in order to work directly with company employees to resolve any and all IT issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
