Job Overview
The Staff Environmental Scientist / Environmental Engineer supports environmental permitting, compliance, and technical analysis activities under the direction of senior staff. This role is well suited for an early-career professional seeking hands-on experience in regulated environmental consulting and technical documentation.
· Support preparation of environmental reports, assessments, and permit documentation
· Conduct data analysis, calculations, and technical evaluations under supervision
· Assist with environmental field activities and site assessments, as required
· Compile figures, tables, and appendices for technical reports
· Implement quality assurance and document control procedures
· Out-of-state travel may be required 25-35% of the month
· Strong Excel skills for data analysis and presentation
· Working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance frameworks
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Compliance with company and client fitness-for-duty requirements
· Proficient knowledge of GIS, CAD for work planning and survey data recording
· Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams to efficiently manage documentation, data analysis, collaboration, and communication tasks.
· Bachelor’s degree (BS) or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil/Geotech Engineering or a related technical field required
· 2–4 years of relevant environmental or engineering experience required
· Familiarity with NEPA, environmental permitting, or compliance documentation preferred
· Experience supporting consulting or regulated industrial projects preferred
· Familiarity with NEPA, environmental permitting, or compliance documentation preferred
· Experience in design engineering and AEC projects preferred
· Field experience or internship experience on environmental projects preferred
· Progress toward professional certification or licensure (e.g., PE, EIT) preferred
