Job Title: SEASONAL LABORER - COAL YARD (AVS)
This is a temporary position that provides general labor assistance at the plant site.
- Assist with general laborer and maintenance and work.
- Perform grounds keeping activities: clean-up, mowing, cutting weeds, building cleanup and other duties, as assigned.
- Assist with other company functions, such as Family Night.
- Check, lubricate, and maintain fuel levels on all equipment operated. Report all equipment problems to the supervisor as required
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Shoveling snow, ash, and coal; moving materials when assigned.
- Perform routine recordkeeping and report equipment problems by completing work requests as required.
- Must be at least 18 years.
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED).
- A valid Driver’s license.
- This position may have to work various hours due to different schedules.
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a post-secondary degree program.
This position requires constant standing/walking; frequent lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds; and occasional use of keyboard/computer, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 60 pounds, sitting, bending/reaching, and climbing. This position may also be exposed to heat/cold, dirt/dust, chemicals, and noise. The incumbent may be required to work in confined areas. This position is assigned to work both indoors and outdoors. This position must be respirator qualified.
- Experience with personal computers and Microsoft Word and Outlook.

The incumbent may operate any of the following: forklift, skid steer loader, trucks, lawn mower, snow blower, farm tractors up to 180 horsepower, and small hand tools and equipment.
